Not today, ISIS!
Today I had the privilege of "almost" becoming a moderator! Or more realistically, I almost got keylogged and hacked. But either way, this is how our story unfolds:
I'm minding my own business training firemaking near the Varrock Grand Exchange when out of nowhere some guy called "JageLTD Corp" messages me. Now immediately I am suspicious because this guy
didn't even care enough about his lure to spell "Jagex" or "Corps" correctly. He should have just picked something generic like "Mod Tom" or some shit. Anyway, when he asks me if I want to be a player moderator, I'm thinking "Oh here we go..." But then I say to myself, "Ok bruh, I'll bite."
So I advance the conversation further, and he asks me to sign out to the lobby. I'm not really sure what his objective was there, because my private messages still saved when I logged back into the game from the lobby.
Anyway, the impersonator gives me some website link that is clearly suspect so I go ahead and hit that good 'ol report button and add him to the ignore list. Not today, ISIS, better luck next time.
